Singer-songwriter Megan Bee crafts evocative folk-Americana music with a sense of place. Her lyrics, woven with an unquenchable wanderlust and a deep love for the land, reflect her experiences as an environmental educator and seasoned vagabond. Based in the rolling hills of Athens, Ohio, her sound is influenced by the collision of modern songwriting and Appalachian folk.
In October 2025, she released her much-anticipated fifth album, Fiction. Produced by Eddie Ashworth and featuring a cast of accomplished regional musicians, the album showcases Bee’s lyrical depth and vocals with sheer expressive closeness. It features ten original songs of slowing down, softness, and enjoying the sweetness of life while sonically dipping its toe into an Arthouse sound at times.
It follows her 2022 release Cottonwood, which was called "as real as it gets – a raw and real telling of engaging, relatable stories." It was listed as one of the best of 2022 by Americana UK and No Depression Magazine, and received acclaim from American Songwriter and IAMA.
Her 2020 album, Waiting, earned The Ark of Music's Album of the Year award, while past albums have garnered The Ohio Music Awards and a finalist spot in the USA Songwriting Competition.
She got her start in a desert wilderness around a campfire, where she picked up her first guitar and found her voice. Over the past decade, she has toured relentlessly by minivan, connecting with audiences through personal stories, road tales, nature facts, and light-hearted humor.
